This project, the BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION AND RURAL LIVELIHOODS IMPROVEMENT is designed to address mainly three critical areas of human concerns: conversation of biodiversity, climate change and rural livelihood improvement.

The nutritive value of Grasscutters is relatively high. The crude protein of the meat is about 22.7% compared to 19.25% for chicken and 18.25% for beef. Besides, it has medicinal advantages. Its consumption has great health benefits for hypertensive patients while its pancreas has a high concentration of insulin used in the treatment of diabetes. An in-depth consultation has already taken place, with discussions beginning in 2017 with community and stakeholders representative. This proposal has evolved as a direct result of that consultation process and a pre-project development visit which was undertaken from September by the project team
Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
Knowledge transfer and capacity building based on personal involvement of local people are at the heart of this project and hence dissemination is an integral aspect of what is planned
