COMMUNITY STEWARDSHIP AND WATER REPLENSHMENT PROJECT IN VILLAGE APPLOLIGON, UC DASSU, TEHSIL SHIGAR, GILGIT BALTISTAN
The proposed project aims to contribute toward community stewardship and replenishment of water to enhance life quality and promote ecological integrity that benefits both man and nature.
The proposed project is in line with CSCCC thematic area for building resilience and reducing vulnerability through ?Community Based Adaptation to Climate Change? with the ability to deliver demonstrative impact on ?Livelihoods, Sustainable Development, and Empowerment?. The project will also demonstrate development dividends across multiple sectors, Drawing the integrated approach from the Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development, the proposed project aims to deliver benefits across three people centric goals directly SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 2 (No Hunger), and SDG 6 (Water for All), one planet related SDG 13 (Climate Action) and indirectly contribute towards SDG 3 (health) and SDG 4 (education). The project is also aligned with Article 7 of the Paris Agreement that supports global goal on adaptation for enhancing adaptive capacity, strengthening resilience and reducing vulnerability to climate change with a view to contributing to sustainable development. Climate adaptation with water sector is also prioritized in Pakistan?s Nationally Determined Contribution (Pak-NDCs) which recognizes that adaptation actions to protect vulnerable groups, communities and ecosystems guided by best available science making use of local knowledge and indigenous practices for integrating adaptation into socio-economic and environmental actions that build resilience of communities and ecosystems.
