Developing the Writing Knowledge and Capacity on Environmental Protection Through Literary Works
Lao Writer?s Association Savanakhet, is located in Dongdamdouane village, Kaysonephomvihan District, Savannakhet Province is interested in environment development through encouraging people to participate in writing and reading their life skills produced in books for sustainability. The Lao government as well as district authority has continuously made efforts for the poverty alleviation for example encouraging these students and villagers to participate in environmental development in their own communities. Such project is to develop the writing capacity and knowledge on environmental protection through literary works considered as one of attractive ways from public engagement in sustainability in compliance with the Millennium Development Goals of the Lao Government, and United Nations. Apart from this, the project aims to raise awareness on keeping communities green, clean and agreeable. Monks, students and villagers will read and write short stories and literary works expressing their own ideas so that they realize the eco-tourism is vital because this issue contributes to alleviate poverty and reserve bio-diversity, to provide an opportunity for managing wildlife and natural resources in community.
