Modern beekeeping for nutrition, income and environmental conservation
The broad goal of the project is to address the degradation of the biodiversity resources in the selected communities by carrying out a programme of bee keeping designed to conserve biodiversity and increase household and individual incomes.
The specific objectives are:
? To build the capacity of 30 local youth on modern bee keeping methods and thereby provide them a means of gainful employment.
? To establish 6 modern apiaries where bee keeping, honey and wax processing will be demonstrated.
? To create employment opportunities by establishing 2 market outlets for honey, wax and other value added products from the project.
