"Alternatives to use of synthetic pesticides".
This project aims to promote the practice and adoption of alternatives to-chemical agriculture i.e. organic farming is the best approach as it does not encourage use of pesticides to keep pests away. Instead the approach promotes Integrated Pest Management (IPM) whereby use of pesticides in crop protection becomes the last resort with a view of emphasizing natural control methods that do not harm the farmer, the consumer or the environment

Specific objectives
? By the end of the project, the income levels of the 3, 775 women marketing federation members are increased by 5%;
? By the end of the project, the food security levels of the 3775 women marketing federation members are increased/enhanced by 10%;
? By end of the project, about 90% of the marketing federation members have adopted chemical free agriculture;
? By the end of the project, the 3, 775 women marketing federation members are aware and fully conscious of the dangers of chemical use in agricultural products and on the environment; and
The knowledge and skills of the 3, 775 women marketing federation members are built on the preparation, handling and application of different forms of alternatives to use of pesticides in agricultures. The knowledge and skills gained will further be expanded to benefit other 3775 women from the various horticultural groups through subsequent step down trainings at community level
