"Farmland nutrient restoration using agroforestry with leguminous trees in 3 communities in Jokadou district".
The project aims to address the problems of land degradation stemming from monocropping with little or no inputs of soil fertility enhancement materials. Through the promotion of agroforestry using Nitrogen fixing trees (Acacia Albida) among others, 10 farmers will be selected for application of this innovation. The project will seek this goal through 3 specific objectives:
(1) To restore degraded farmlands to enhance food availability and security.
(2) Diversify farm incomes.
(3) Build capacity of farmers for sustained agricultural practices.
