"Combating climate change through the use of solar cookers in schools and communities in the North Bank Region".
This project aims to promote the use of solar cookers as a means of combating
climate change as well as a means of harnessing solar radiation for domestic use.
The project will be implemented through demonstration and sensitization activities
in the 4 selected schools and would also involve community members taking part.
The project will demonstrate that solar energy can be used for both domestic and
industrial purposes and can therefore provide alternatives to the conventional sources of domestic energy which are not only polluting but contribute to environmental degradation.
sources of energy.
The main project activities will include the:
? Identification and assessment of suitable cookers to each household.
? Mobilisation and train communities on solar techniques.
? Organise cooking demonstration for stakeholders.
? Procure materials to develop sample boxes.
? Form and strengthen SEC clubs in schools.
Promote community awareness and participation.
