"Community livelihood advancement through agroforestry best practices project"
The project seeks to address the rapidly degrading environment and forest cover through promoting agro forestry and bee farming activities for increased living standards of rural communities in the Kiang West of Lower River Region. The overall goal of the project is to restore forest cover through agro forestry best practices for increased food and income security for sustainable economic development of the people of Kiang West District. The project has 3 specific objectives:
(1) To increase food and income security of beneficiary communities through the introduction of agro forestry and bee farming best practices by the end of the project period.
(2) To strengthen capacities of beneficiary communities on improved agro forestry mixed farming techniques.
To increase knowledge base of the general public on agro forestry best practices through visitations on the model farms by the end of the project period.
