GEF Grant Writing Training and Capacity Building
GEF Small Grants are important source of funding that help communities achieve socio-cultural, economical, and environmental development goals.
GEF grants require measurable outcomes, accurate and complete reporting, while encouraging maximum community participation and gender equality. GEF grants therefore helps communities achieve Sustainable Development Goals.
Many community groups fail to access or successfully complete GEF grants because of difficulties with grant (a) writing (b) project execution/management and (c) reporting.
The HTA wishes to address this issue by building capacity among its membership with the following activities.
1. Grant Writing Training so that members are equipped with the skills to successfully complete the grant application process.
2. Grant Project Management Training to enable members to successfully execute and manage the grant project and objectives.
3. Grant Reporting Training to equip members with the tools and skills for accurate and complete documentation and reporting of grant project activities.
4. Development of a grant writing and management reference manual so that members can use as a guide and tool for training others.
The HTA hopes that this project will not only build capacity among its members, but also inspire others in the community to access same training so that they too can be better equipped to access grant funding.
