Substance Abuse Foundation - Renewable Energy Project
The over-arching goal of this initiative is to transition to solar energy and reduce the negative impact on climate change and the environment resulting from the development of a solar farm at the Foundation's main campus.
This initiative will leverage strategic assets (buildings and land) to tangibly support environmental goals, transform a cost-intensive source of energy into a revenue-producing social enterprise and provide therapeutic work arrangements for clients.
This key objectives of this project are to:
1. Transition from traditional avenues of electricity usage to renewable by installing 502 solar panels
2. Create an income stream to support SAF?s educational and rehabilitation programs and services
3. Provide annual educational and employment training as part of the rehabilitation and societal re-entry
