This project will assist in building the capacity of the grantee, which represents the first Trade Union Partnership with GEF SGP UNDP. The project uses a praxis approach and has the following objectives: (i) To prepare a sustainable development communique and policy through a participatory process which will drive future SD work of the Union by the fourth (4th) month of the project; (ii) To assess the needs of the membership of the St. Lucia Teachers? Union(SLTU) and to design a training programme in Sustainable Development principles and actions for members by the eighth (8th) month of the project; (iii) To design implement and manage a knowledge fair which will demonstrate the achievement of GEF SGP projects in St. Lucia; (iv) To plan, implement and manage a project on food security for SD through a competition among schools which will result in the disbursement of 4 micro grants to winners for addressing issues covered in the Saint Lucia OP 6 Country Programme Strategy and the SDGs.
