With the implementation of the project, a functional system for organized collection and sale of waste PET plastic packaging from the population in the region of the Municipality of Mavrovo Rostuse will be created, as well as from the tourists who visit the region during the year. By implementing the planned activities, the Association for Local and Rural Development will expand and improve the existing system for collection of waste PET plastic packaging in the northwestern part of Macedonia. Such approach, in addition to ensuring its self-sufficiency, will ensure the smooth collection and sale of waste PET plastic packaging and after the completion of this project that will indirectly help improve the socio-economic development of the western part of Macedonia, especially the Municipality of Mavrovo and Rostushe.

The overall goal of the project is to reduce the quantities of POPs omitted from the burnt PET plastic in the Municipality of Mavrovo and Rostuse.

Specific objectives of the project are:
- Determination of local environmental needs and priorities for the municipality
- Educated and motivated citizens for participation in an organized collection of used plastic packaging
- Set up containers for recycling of suitable places

From here it is planned to achieve the following results:
- Public opinion on the state of selection of waste has been examined
- Raised public awareness of the local population about the need for recycling of waste PET plastic packaging
- Supplied and placed containers for recycling plastic PET bottles in the Municipality of Mavrovo Rostushe
