GROW requests financial support to implement Capacity Development Project for GEF-SGP OP6 Implementing Civil Society Organizations in Mokhotlong and Qacha?s Nek. The SGP in the sixth operational phase (OP 6) is focusing in the Orange River Basin, with Khubelu and Upper Senqu sub-catchments prioritized for the first grant making cycle in OP6. By and large the first batch of grantees, in Mokhotlong (5) and Qacha?s Nek (3), have capacity gaps that require close supervision/mentoring guidance in project management. This project is in line with the objectives of SGP country programs which is to help build the capacity of the civil society to engage and respond to key environmental challenges.

Project?s Main Objective

To help build the capacity of the civil society implementing GEF-SGP OP6 in Mokhotlong and Qacha?s Nek to engage and respond to key environmental challenges.
Immediate objectives
Specifically, the project seeks:
i. To build grantees capacity on Project and Financial Management, organizational development to ensure quality and compliant projects implementation.

ii. To build grantees ability to undertake and participate in projects monitoring
and ensure delivery of good quality projects

iii. To improve 8 GEF-SGP grantees networking and knowledge sharing capacity for improved response to environmental challenges
