This project is located within Zhiduo County in the western part of Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. The ?Suobuchaye? community is a purely animal husbandry community, where local shepherd migrate with water plants and live in scattered communities. There are about 600 households in Dasheng Village where ?Suobuchaye? is located. The average annual income of the village is 2,800 Yuan, and the main sources of annual income are animal husbandry and government subsidies.

Main Problems:
1) Lack of community participatory baseline survey on biodiversity and ecological culture of the Yangtze and Lancang River watersheds.
2) Lack of effective community-based biodiversity integrated conservation mechanism in Sanjiangyuan region.
3) Economic development model relying on the solely factor

Solutions/activities:
1) To conduct baseline survey, integrating traditional culture, along with modern science to identify biodiversity flagship species and ecological characteristics
2) To establish Community Conserved Area in order to enhance community's capacity on biodiversity conservation and sustainable development.
3) Promote and outreach project model and results in Sanjiangyuan region and other areas.

Anticipated results:
1) Cultivate 20 local patrollers and train 5 local people to use Unmanned Aerial Vehicle for monitoring, and produce a report on the biodiversity survey
2) Community Conserved Area establish village regulation and 120812ha. of land and habitat for snow leopard and black-necked crane protected
3) Through organizing Zhuobacang Ecological Culture Festival, the average annual income of 20 local families increased by 4,500 Yuan; through selling of local featured products, the average annual income of 20 local families increased by 1,000 Yuan
4) 30 university students from Shanghai visited Suobuchaye community and support the local conservation
5) Project model and results are promoted and outreached to another 5 counties
