Improving the energy performance of the dormitory building of the Ula Agricultural Lyceum in the agro-town of Bie?ankovichy, Viciebsk Region
Project goal: Reduce the volume of greenhouse gas air emission due to improvement of water heating of the dormitory building of the Ula Agricultural Lyceum in the agro-town of Bie?ankovichy, Viciebsk Region
Project tasks:
1) Develop design documents for solar unit procurements and installation in order to provide the dormitory with hot water. 2) Procure and install the solar unit and carry out all essential start-up operations. 3) Organize and conduct an awareness-raising campaign: 1) Hold an awareness-raising seminar/presentation for stakeholders. 2) Develop "Home Ecology" training course for students. 3) Ensure the project media coverage. 4) Organize open events on climate conservation and energy saving.
Expected results:
- Reconstruction of hot water supply with the installation of a solar collector for heating about 8 m3 for the needs of the lyceum's hostel, which will give an additional saving of 24,000 US dollars.
- The total annual effect of the project is 250-300m3 of wood, which is equivalent to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 10.8 tons (in CO2 equivalent). In addition, the conservation of forests can improve the ecological situation in the region, and preserve forest tracts.
- Reduction of expenses for water heating due to the solar collector will allow to allocate savings for other urgent needs, to improve the living conditions of students and children with psychophysical development, without additional electricity costs, to comply with the supply of hot water in the living rooms of the hostel in accordance with the requirements of Sanepidemstance
