Local mechanisms of reinvesting for climate neutrality and local community development
Project goal: 1. Use straw-based mushroom growing as a local reinvestment mechanism for climate neutrality and local community development. 2. Prevent emission of 3 tons of CO2 a year by utilizing straw instead of combustion
Project tasks:
1. Collect and bring into economic use (mushroom growing) waste straw of cereal crops in the amount of 540 tons a year. 2. Establish and ensure operation of a local information and awareness-raising center for training rural residents in industrial and domestic use of green technologies. 3. Create new jobs in the project area.
Expected results:
1. Increased potential of the cooperative for the production of mushrooms with annual use of straw crops up to 540 tons:
1.1. Preparation and maintenance of production facilities of the cooperative;
1.2. The modernization of the material and technical base of the cooperative;
1.3. Developed and published a booklet on the production and production of the cooperative;
1.4. The company processes at least 540 tons of straw per year and sells the same amount of protein-enriched feed to agricultural enterprises and smallholders;
1.5. At least 3 tons of greenhouse gases were prevented.
2. An information and education center has been established at the cooperative, on the basis of which villagers are trained in the use of "green" technologies in production and life.
2.1. The repair and equipment of the premises of the information and education center was carried out;
2.2. On the basis of the center, at least 50 local people were trained in rural entrepreneurship, as well as energy saving in everyday life;
2.3. Published 50 copies of the booklet, "tracing energy conservation to the public."
3. Cooperative support for the first local ecological and social initiatives of the village.
3.1. The cooperative supported socially unprotected groups of the population having transferred free of charge about 100 kg of finished goods to the Slavgorod tsson, pensioners and other target groups in coordination with the Slavgorod regional Executive Committee;
3.2. The cooperative supported at least 3 eco-socially significant local initiatives for a total amount of up to 1,500 US dollars.
