Support to the Centre for community sustainable development and safety
The main objective of the project is to establish Centre for community sustainable development and safety at A.S.Makarenko Irpin Secondary School #1 specializing in Arts that has relevant experience of raising environmental awareness of students combined with energy-saving and resource efficient management system. The Centre is aiming at creating sustainable development platform for community in Irpin town. The tasks of the project include renovating the premises of the Centre, developing the Center?s strategy, establishing public consultative and training mechanism in the community; capacity building of the local authorities, community, CSOs to achieve safe environment and livelihood; wide raising awareness campaign and sharing experience.

Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
Communities received more information on environmental safety, sustainable consumption and use of resources, waste management, environmental protection, which in turn contributed to preservation of the environment, improvement of living conditions, socio-economic development of communities, expansion of their rights and social opportunities. Communities and CSOs also got more chances and opportunities to work with international initiatives of other donors and organizations, which boosted socio-economic growth.
Notable Community Participation
The Center for Community Sustainable Development and Safety is established at a public educational institution therefore the key target group of the project is young people and women.
