Cluster initiatives for innovative agroecological methods to protect steppe landscape
The main objective of the project is to contribute to sustainable organic beekeeping in Ukraine as an effective tool of agroecological influence towards steppe landscape. The project is aimed at the dissemination of best practices and new scientific approach to beekeeping on steppe landscape in Ukraine, and establishing partnerships with local authorities, communities, scientists, farmers aiming at land degradation reduction. To achieve these goals the teaching and demonstration apiary of organic bee-keeping on the basis of Tavria State Agrotechnological University, with the size of 2 hectares, was established and supplied with modern equipment including solar panels to provide renewable energy for apiaries, which contributed to the reduction of CO2 emissions, and the
formation of environmental awareness of citizens.

Gender Focus
Gender equality is a part of project policy and all parties participate in project activities on equal base and benefit from project results.
Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
Information on project implementation and results achieved was disseminated on 11 information sites, social networks and mass media. The website of NGO Apiculture Cluster "Bees without borders" was created (http://beeswithoutborders.com.ua). In addition, materials with information about the project (500 copies of leaflets, 2500 copies of booklets) were produced and distributed. The professional training for workers with the specialty "Apiarist" (the term of training - 15 weeks) for 25 people was conducted. The scientific researches of modern methods of organic beekeeping and the advantages of the cluster model of dissemination of best practices in the development of beekeeping were carried out. Moreover, two workshops for 200 apiarists of Zaporizhya and Lugansk oblasts in December 2018 and three master classes on organic bee keeping problems for 30 people were held in February-March 2019, in addition, the All-Ukrainian conference-festival for apiarists was held on March 23-24, 2019 (and also 300 conference materials were printed and distributed).
