Demonstration of effective and sustainable use of Renewable Energy Sources and Energy-Efficiency technologies in the remote Dehmanora village of Langar Jamoat, Mastchoh district of Sogd region.
Access to energy sources is an acute issue in the Mastchohi Kuhiston district. The district is rather isolated and mostly relies on wood, coal and the manure for heating and cooking. Most of the villages are off grid and rely on selfmade micro hydropower plants. The plants are not able to meet the electricity demand. Solar power is almost an untapped source of energy. Cutting trees is a common phenomenon. Lack of access to power and energy has a negative effect on the environment in the district, as well as the social and economic wellbeing of the local population.
The project's goal is to mitigate the negative impact on the environment and the effects of the climate change by providing access to the renewable energy sources and the awareness raising of the local population about rhe use of RES and EE.
1. Modernization and improvement of at least 2 micro hydropower plants to improve the quality of electricity supply.
2. Imrpove the power supply to the local school through theinstallation and commissioning of PV system for lighting and the computer class.
3. Conduct theoretical and practical training on DIY solar water heaters and train the local population on efficient use of energy and renewable energy. Lay foundation for the replication.
