?Ecotourism as a powerful tool for local development? in Baldjuvan district, Khatlon region.
This project is aimed creating a basis of ecotourism in Baljuvon district of Khatlon Region where the ecotourism became the catalyst of local development, formations of careful attitude to the nature and a biodiversity of the unique nature of the mountain country in local people of the area . We are sure that activization of production and sale of products of local crafts will promote the inhabitants of the area won't destroy unique flora and fauna of the mountain country, and ecotourists will have an opportunity to make trips along routes, new to them.
Project purpose: To promote development of ecotourism and preservation of a biodiversity in Baljuvon district through revival of traditional local crafts, involvement of local communities in rendering services to tourists for 12 months.
Project tasks:
- To develop the map of remarkable natural, historical and cultural places of Baljuvon and also at least 2 routes for potential tourists.
- To reveal and equip at least 10 guest houses (3 along natural hunting route, 7 along historical natural route)
- To train not less than 10 locals at the age of 18-40 years (basics of culture of tourists? treatment, a basis of the English speech, ethics of the guide)
- To prepare and duplicate at least 300 copies of the A5 brochures/booklets in Tajik, Russian, English languages about sights of the area and available services.
