Project goal:
Strenghthening economic condition of local community which will be based of natural conservation efforts done in Mt. Halimun

Project objective :
1. To collect, gather, inventarized and study on natural resources characteristic available
2. To conduct market research in order to select high potential local products
3. To develop potential product that has economic value with necessary modification (product desaign)
4. To empower human resources available with management skills (organization, financial, marketing)
5. To develop community based natural conservation model (biodiversity)
6. To increase community participation on natural conservation activities
7. To increase community welfare through developing economic activities which regards to natural conservation
8. To decrease community dependency on natural resources available in Mt. Halimun national park


Activities to be carried out under the project :

1. Preparation
a) To collect data / map on Mt. Halimun National Park area / border
b) To set up workplan together with working partners
c) To conduct study on potential local resources for local products
d) To conduct market study on potential local products
e) To prepare necessary activities in planting potential plants / trees

2. Local training and education in the field
a) Entrepreneurship building for local community
b) Small scale business management system
c) Product development skill, production process, simple technology knowledge

3. Outreach Approach.
a) Marketing network
b) Documented successful results to be replicated in other area


4. Technical Assistance.
a)Better business management system
b)Sustainable way of harvesting the trees planted
c) Product management
d) Marketing strategy

5. Evaluation and Reporting.

3. Detailed information on potential business options available for community
4. Small scale management knowledge to be adopted by local community
5. Simple production technology to be adopted by local community
6. Basis of natural conservation effort be be understood and implemented by local community
7. Demoplot to be established as a pilot project
8. Community based biodiversity model to be established
