Channeling Rain water to save the water bank
Channeling Rain water to save the water bank
This project seeks to address the sustainability and management of the natural resource of fresh water. Water is a limited resource. How we manage and utilize this resource does make a difference. Factors such as climate change have increased pressures on natural water resources, indeed every drop of water counts. With increasing developing and population growth greater emphasis on water conservation is necessary to ensure the availability of water for future generations. Future environmental sustainability hinges on the knowledge, attitudes and practices of the present generation who must be taught to better manage, protect and conserve our natural resources?especially water.
(i)By the end of December 2019 increase the awareness and knowledge of at least 500 community residents about the importance of water conservation to achieve positive changes in attitudes and practices.
(Communities: Haynes Smith, St Johnston, Russel, La Guerite, Trafalgar, Buckley?s Estate, Buckley?s Site and Lime Kiln)
(ii) By the end of December 2019 have a rain water harvesting system installed and fully operational.
