Climate Change and Land Degradation are two of the main threats to the natural resources of I.R. Iran and there is an
urgent need to raise awareness and update the knowledge of NGOs and CBOs who are working in the field of natural
resources management and environmental conservation, in these fields and inform them about the related conventions
(such as the Convention on Combatting Desertification). Therefore, the project aims to first conduct a national level
survey of NGOs and CBOs which are active in the field of natural resources management and environmental
conservation and assess their knowledge on the mentioned concepts. Then, training packages will be prepared
accordingly and as adapted to the needs of the groups and finally workshops will be conducted in various geographic
regions of Iran. As a result, a network of NGOs/CBOs will be formed who will be focused on the mentioned areas and
will be exchanging their own experiences on resilience building. A website, training packages as well as brochures and
other informational materials are some of the outputs of this project.
