Restoration and Improvement of Springs that have been modified by humans, as most critical habitats for Newts in Upper Zagros Forests
Restoration and Improvement of Springs that have been modified by humans, as most critical habitats for Newts in Upper Zagros Forests
Restoration of ten springs and improvement and modifying existing usages which have become recent practices for these critical habitats for egg laying of the Newts in Upper Zagros Forests. This work will be done by engaging the local farmers and garden owners and jointly developing the improved water distribution systems which damage these natural habitats. In two previous pilots in western Zagros, these modified practices were examined, and the result was a thirty to 40 percent increase in Newt population in each of the springs over a one year period.
The work will be done by members of local organizations, local university graduates in environmental studies and game guards. Also, hands on educational clips will be prepared for sharing through the users as the project material.
