A basis has been formed for conducting agroforestry in the Zerendinsky district. Five experimental plots were created to demonstrate private agroforestry in the territory of the Kokterek Nursery; mini-plantation on the territory of the "College of Ecology and Forestry, the city of Shchuchinsk" State Municipal Management Organization and 3 household plots of local residents.
The established plot at the Kokterek nursery will further become a mother plantation for the expansion of the plot.
Demonstration platform was created on the basis of the experimental plot for target groups? training (local residents, students, private nurseries) directly in planning, laying, nursing and vaccination work.
On the basis of the experimental plot there were developed the agroforestry practices with the use of row spacings when planting fruit trees for the first time in the region. The results showed that the most promising direction is the use of row spacings for collecting biomass, and the use of agrotechnical textile can cut the cost of maintenance work (weeding) by half, while the cultivation of vegetable crops requires large investments to achieve effective yields.
The potential for the development of private afforestation was studied both in the Zerendinsky district of the Akmola region and throughout the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan from a legal point of view. The identified gaps and problems were presented at the final workshop, and also were transferred directly to the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
