Endangered Fish Species Protection Plan at Bey?ehir Lake
Lake Bey?hir, the second largest lake of whole Anatolia, is forming Lake Bey?ehir and Catchments Freshwater Key Biodiversity Area (FWKBA) with its large catchment. The FWKBA is triggered with twelve freshwater fish species of international importance. During the period between November 2016 ? 2017 Conservation of Threatened Freshwater fish of Lake Bey?ehir Basin was implemented with the support of GEF?s SGP Programme. Multispecies Action Plan for the conservation of Threatened freshwater Fish of Lake Bey?ehir Basin was prepared during the mentioned project. With the current project activities of the action plan at selected sites (Eflatunp?nar, Derebucak, and Ye?ildag) with different ecological characteristics, home to ten of the twelve threatened fish species, will be implemented. Moreover, Lake Bey?ehir Local Conservation Group will be activated.
