A comprehensive thermal modernization of the building was carried out from various sources, such as:
Funds of apartment owners,
Grant financing of the GEF Small Grants Program,
Funding by UNDP in Kazakhstan - UNDP GEF Project ?Sustainable Cities for Low-Carbon Development?,
Business - application of the ESCO model - approbation of the ESCO model on the basis of bank financing
Measures implemented:
Sealing of interpanel seams
Repair and thermal insulation of a soft roof using innovative materials and technology;
Replacement of windows in entrances with energy-efficient plastic double-glazed windows;
Installation of warm vestibules by replacing ineffective wooden partitions with plastic insulated entrance groups;
Heat insulation of the basement ceiling;
Installation of an automated substation (AHS);
Installation of balancing valves;
Heat insulation of distribution pipelines in the basement of the building;
Replacing lighting in public areas with LED sources with motion sensors

Outcomes:
Reducing CO2 emissions - 383 tons.
Increasing the energy efficiency class of the multi-apartment residential building from D (reduced) to class B (high)

Saving the family budget - payment for consumed heat energy has been reduced by more than half. Average monthly payment for heating for a 3-room apartment made KZT 1000 - 1200 versus KZT 2800 -3200 per month before the project;
A comfortable temperature was observed in all apartments during the heating period;
The cost of apartments in the pilot multi-apartment residential building increased in the real estate market;
Modernization of lighting in public areas of the multi-apartment residential building (driveway lighting, lighting in the basement, street lighting): the expenses of residents for electricity for general needs have been reduced
In the course of implementation of the project's objectives, the participation of the owners themselves in the process of management and maintenance, modernization and operation of an apartment building played a special role, because all project activities were carried out after obtaining consent from the majority of apartment owners.
Constantly inform residents about the progress of the project activities, as well as the results of project monitoring through the cooperative of apartment owners.
