Introduction of sustainable methods of biodiversity conservation and alternative activities for local communities through development of ecotourism on the territory of Buiratau National Park
Project activity is proposed on the territory of the Buiratau Natural Park located in the Ereymentau district of the Akmola region and the Osakar district of the Karaganda region with a protection zone of 88064 hectares. The park plays an important role in preserving the biodiversity of steppe and forest-steppe landscapes, being part of the "ecological base" of the steppe natural territories of Kazakhstan. The project aims to conserve biodiversity and sustainably use natural resources at the Buiratau National Park, as well as strengthen local capacity through development of ecotourism and youth professional orientation, regulate tourists flows, create infrastructure for rational use of resources.
According to the results of the project, it is expected that the potential of the locals will be directed at alternative income from ecotourism, youth will have the opportunity for professional orientation and development, increased availability of information on Buiratau Park, enhanced recreation and orientation infrastructure, park's touristic potential is revealed through modern methods of promotion and partnerships with travel companies.
