The project demonstrated the possibility and benefits of the implementation of the following energy efficient technologies in 3 schools of the Aral region, Kyzylorda area:
? Installation of Solar water heating setting (SWH) for receiving hot water instead of previously used electric boilers;
? Energy efficient LED lamps;
? Carrying out activities to promote the experience gained among the local population of the Aral region
As a result of the introduction of LED lighting (partial) and SWH at 3 demo sites in the Aral region, the following was achieved in TOTAL:
? Reduction of electricity consumption (estimated): 180 MWh;
? Reduction of CO2 emissions by 164 tons;
? Year-round access to hot water for students and school staff
? Particularly dangerous potential sources of environmental pollution have been eliminated - 228 mercury-containing fluorescent lamps were dismantled and taken out of service and replaced with LED lamps;
? Improving the level of illumination and quality of light in the modernized school premises;
? Building the capacity of the administration of the Aral region, as well as specialists of the State Institution ?Department of Education, Physical Culture and Sports of the Aral Region of the Kyzylorda Area? on the possibilities and benefits of using EE lighting technologies in public buildings, preparation and management of EE projects.
Provided sanitary standards for hand washing for children - practice shows that in the presence of hot water, children will wash their hands more often.
