Consolidation of dacha cooperatives of Kostanay region for development and distribution of resource-saving approaches to meet the risks associated with climate change
For decades traditionally, cottage plots have been sources of income and ways to solve the financial problems of an urban family. The applicants are convinced that by developing dacha cooperatives near large cities, it is possible to solve land degradation problem, as well as to improve the livelihoods of vulnerable populations.
The aim of the project is the introduction of simple and efficient water, soil and energy technologies, as a practical opportunity for sustainable development of green cooperative cooperation and entrepreneurship in Kostanay region.
The project proposes to create a network of demo sites on the territory of 4 dacha cooperatives united by common effective water and soil and agricultural approaches, and to demonstrate the effectiveness of integrated approaches in increasing the efficiency of restored degraded lands; to teach the focus group the basics of practical use of simple and efficient water-agro-energy approaches; to disseminate practical experience in the region and other landscape areas.
The main results of the project will be: at 20 demo sites, seminars, training modules, trainings and round tables will be held to demonstrate integrated approaches that will involve at least 2,000 people from dacha cooperative representatives, regional akimat representatives, department of agriculture, representatives of project landscape areas, women entrepreneurs, media representatives.
