- This project had the goal of promoting integrated farming using apicuture, agroforestry and vegetable production to enhance biodiversity conservation (of bees) and sustaining the functions of farmland ecosystems for food security and income security. The farmer selected for implementation of this project belongs to a CBO in the area and he would be used to demonstrate the innovation so that others would learn and replicate the initiative.

- A 1.8 hectare piece of land was fenced by the project in the village of Jali located in the Kiang West District of the Lower River Region.The farm was divided into 3 components for the implementation of Bee keeping, vegetable production and Agroforestry.

- A borehole was drilled on the farm and connected to 2 overhead tanks each with a capacity of 2, 000 litres of water totally powered by solar panels.

- A waiting shed with a store was constructed at the entrance of the farm to be used as a training shed for participants who will be trained by he project. The shed is also used by the farmer for the construction of bee hives and farmers would be trained on hive construction here too.

- 40 KTB hives were provided to he farm and sited within the apiary and nearby forest areas. Before the siting of the hives, a training programme on hive construction, care and maintenance of hives, honey harvesting techniques, honey processing/transformation techniques and marketing strategies. At the end of the training, protective gears including tools were provided to the farmer.

- A seedling nursery was established within the farm to be part of the agroforestry component of the project. The nursery produced seedlings of native trees that are highly threatened in the area and also seedlings of following plants to enhance be activity of the farm. Poly pots and seeds are provided to the farmer and training conducted on agroforestry.

- To kick start horticultural production on the farm, high quality vegetable seeds were procured and supplied to the grantee. These included 15 tins of onions, 4 tins of bitter tomatoes, 3 tins of tomatoes, 2.5 tins of of lettuce, 2 tins of okra, 2.5 tins of egg plant, 2 tins of cabbage, 2 tins of cucumber, 2 tins of water melons, 3 tins of sweet pepper and 1 tin of pumpkin.

- 22 women from the surrounding communities received training on various aspects of horticultural production.
