Participatory Conservation of Khamu Community for Tha Kra Darn
? Objectives:
a) Create strategy to protect Ta-ka-dan community forest by using Ta-ka-dan management corporation
b) Reconstruct Khamu people lifestyle through ritual that help protecting Ta-ka-dan forest
c) Create working process that return benefit to Ta-ka-dan ecological system
? Beneficial:

? Target area:
Ta-ka-dan subdistrict moo 1 and two, Sri Sawat district, Kanchanaburi province
? Activity proposed:
a. Activity to strengthen community?s ability
i. Meeting and fulfilment ideology of forest management fund and agricultural ideology
ii. Brian storm on sustainable tourism
b. Demonstration/Operation
i. Set up sign of district line, map of Ta-Ka-Dan community, create agreement sign on public use of Ta-Ka-Dan forest, and security patrol
ii. Create a fundraising activity for community management
iii. Plantation trial according to the environmental-friendly ideology
iv. Create ritual that helpful to forest protection according to Khamu people?s lifestyle
v. Trial on fare collection to Ta-Ka-Dan community forest ecology and sustainable tourism
vi. Educate youth in natural classroom in Ta-Ka-Dan community forest
c. Knowledge management activity (gather information, result, lessons learned, and experiences from the project)
i. Hold a meeting to conclude on project for managing Ta-Ka-Dan community forest
ii. Research on Khamu culture and select rituals that related to forest protection
iii. Research on possibility and gather people who benefit from Ta-Ka-Dan community forest ecology
iv. Conclude on PES performance of Ta-Ka-Dan community forest, sustainable tourism, and study manual in teaching youth
v. Create media to distribute Khamu people?s lifestyles in preserving natural resources, and short documentary presenting concrete success of the project
d. Participatory evaluation
i. Evaluation and follow up on fruit tree trial and local tree plantation trial
ii. Explore and evaluate forest, and calculate carbon storage
iii. Participate GEF UNDP project meeting
