Ethnic Community Capacity Development for Agro-Ecology towards Resources Management Upscaling Strategy at Sub-District Level
? Objectives:
a) To adjust production from monoculture to integrated agriculture that is not affected with environment for example, agricultural ecology, agroforestry, and integrated agriculture
b) To push forward the strategy and plan of the community in local level to participate in managing environment ? forest, water, soil.
c) To solve poverty and develop quality of life for people in the community to be able to live with natural environment sustainable.
? Beneficial: 350 households
? Target area:
The targeted areas are 3 villages in Nam pang subdistrict, Mae Jarim district in Nan province. The three areas are Baan nam wa (moo 5), Baan nam tuang (moo 9), and Baan rom klao (moo 10). These areas are equal to 247,687.5 rai with most of them are mountain area and national conserved forest.
? Proposed activities:
a. Strengthen community capability
i. Seminar to general knowledge in the community (2 times for each community)
ii. Meeting to develop workplan and strategy in local level and network (4 times)
iii. Develop geographic information and create local map
b. Create concrete area in adaptation and operation of community forest
i. Training adaptation of agricultural work for example, training on sustainable agricultural, plantation techniques and cultivations
ii. Observe training and exchange knowledge with other community in the North
iii. Community forest management ? meeting on plan and how to manage community forest, create documents and distribute them to the public.
c. Public relations activity
i. Platform to launch new project to the public, gather information and results of the project to distribute through medias for instance, website and social media.
d. Participatory evaluation for example, platform of lessons learned about environment

? Targeted group:
There are two main targeted group of hill tribe people which are Lua and Mong. The Lua people are the majority people originated in Nan province, where Mong people were migrated from the Southern part of China.
