Pig Farm's Wastewater Treatment by Biogas Technology
Husbandry is amongst the most rapidly growing economic development activities in Lao PDR, particularly for pig farm. The fast growth of pig farming and city expansion has leaded to conflicting situation between the farms and surrounding communities. Beside of positive economic benefits, pig farming also causes significant negative environment impacts to surrounding communities and often leads to conflicting situation between the farmers and people of surrounding communities. Untreated wastes from the farms have caused serious environmental pollution, such as odor smells, fly, polluted water, etc. Therefore, the project will help to demonstrate application of biogas technology for farms? waste-water treatment, which, in one hand, and solving incurred environmental problems, and to produce biogas as high quality energy source and bio-fertilizer, in the other hand.
