The project titled ?Kunar Environmental Protection through Forestation in Nurgal, Kunar?, implemented to control degradation along the Kunar river. About 27,000 trees planted which converted into a dense forest in the area. The species were selected in coordination with the Directorate of Agriculture in the province. The project played a very significant role in environmental education and awareness raising. Apart from the above accomplishment, the project positively impacted community livelihoods by providing grazing area for their livestock. This project also protected agricultural lands from flooding and created a tourism spot for the visitors and communities living in area.
