The project is aimed at introduction of the alternative energy sources in local communities, improving the life of the local population using the example of the villages of Chundzha and Toguzbulak of the Uygur district of the Almaty region. Within the framework of the project, solar dryers were installed in the garden area of the focus group (local community) in order to dry vegetables and fruits. The project is a replication of the previously successfully implemented experience of the GEF Small Grants Program in the Enbek village of Almaty region.
? Within the framework of the project, 12 solar dryers were manufactured and installed for drying fruits and vegetables in the private farmsteads of women in the villages of Chundzha and Toguzbulak.
? Installed dryers are a local technology that allows to dry vegetables, fruits, herbs, etc. in a short time (2 days). Thanks to this technology, local residents have the opportunity to process fruit and vegetable products and their further use both for the needs of their families and for sales, receiving additional income.
? Within the framework of the project, seminars were held for villagers, information about the project was disseminated through local newspapers, field meetings and seminars were held in 14 rural districts, and the project was presented in the city of Chundzha
? Established production of dryers on the basis of a local partner - individual entrepreneur (IE).
