Conservation of fish resources in the lower reaches of the Kokaral dam by creating a cage farming and implementing resource-saving technologies for the needs of fish farming in the Aral region of the Kyzylorda region
Project goal is to preserve fish resources at the downstream of the Kokaral dam by creating a cage farming and introduce renewables and resource-saving technologies for the needs of fish farming in the Aral region.
Expected project results include 72,000 stocked fingerlings, that will turn to 25,920 kg of carp in 20019; improved living conditions for 60 fishermen and 25 employees of workshops; at least 300 fishermen working in areas of the Aral Sea will be involved in the activities of the project to rescue fry; reduction of load on the biological resources of the Small Aral Sea due to the organization of rescue fry and the introduction of the principles of sustainable fisheries in cages; a significant reduction in the consumption of woody and shrub vegetation for firewood.
