Promoted and created opportunities for collaboration and partnerships of men, women and youths to engage and contribute for disaster risk reduction, environment management and climate change adaption through conducting training courses for women, men and youths. The following topics also were the training objective:
Environmental sustainability, protection of unused lands, disaster risk mitigations; using local tools, watershed management, pasture management, upper catchment management, soil degradation, land slide, waste management and jungle protection, horticulture, home gardening, forestry and vegetable training package.
Support community sustainable development initiatives which reduce pressure on natural resources in the target areas.
Total beneficiaries 1800 female + 1300 farmers+ 600 youths and 150 members of Community Councils = 3850 persons
SALEH contributed for the celebration of International Environment Day and conduct a vast campaign for this purpose.
- SALEHO established 1200 home gardens for 1200 women and disabled people. Totally 9000 fruit saplings, 120000 willow saplings were planted by beneficiaries and their families resulted to:
- Improved the climate situation and created better situation for healthy living.
- supported climate change adaptation and mitigation.
- Provided an alternative to shrubs collection.
- improved livelihood of local community particularly women.
- Increased vegetation coverage and provided wildlife habit.
These 1200 families have got accessibility to fruits and vegetables (24.4% of population) to get sufficient vitamins and minerals and improve the health condition of local people particularly women and children.
- Established a watershed (public garden) in Wurgund Village of Wakhan District having 80000 non fruit saplings like willows surrounded by sea buckthorn.
