Implementing of climate smart agro ecology practices for GHG reduction and ensuring resilience to climate induced shocks in Qonsore Chafa Kebele
The project is intended to promote climate smart agroecology practices that can ensure farmers resilience to climate change shocks, thereby improve crop and livestock productivity at household level to improve their livelihood.Qonsore Chafa kebele is one of Boricha woreda kebeles highly affected by climate change driven shocks such as drought, rainfall variability and extreme heat which in turn cause of soil erosion (wind and rain) fertility deterioration. These are manifested by loss of farm land productivity due to loss of fertility and farm covered by siltation from upper stream, loss of vegetation cover, food insecurity, farm land scarcity, loss of soil fertility, recurrent drought, erratic rainfall, low farm moisture, loss of range land, absence of river and springs and water discharge potentials for human and cattle consumption, shortage of fuel and construction woods and other forest based productive and lack of additional income generating activities, low or absence of off farm activities
