Provide the scientific community with young people specialized in botany and bioinformatics (researchers, students, technicians and workers) qualified for regular maintenance, boarding, labeling inventory, archiving, digitization, databases ... specimens is a necessary step to ensure the conservation, sustainability and dynamics of existing herbaria and the development of new ones in other educational or research institutions as well as in protected areas which justifies integration into the project of an action for the reinforcement of competences in this field. Strengthening skills in these specialties will enable the applicant organization and the teaching institute to safeguard its herbarium, enrich it, maintain it and ensure its sustainability. This herbarium will constitute a base in theoretical and practical teaching and research in different disciplines (botany, taxonomy, phylogeny, ecology, genetics, biogeography, ethnobotany ...).

Sensitization of decision makers, NGOs, the local population through the organization of awareness days, conferences in their regions, organize visits to pilot sites, etc. involvement will depend on the degree of their interest in the ex situ conservation of Tunisian flora (researchers, decision-makers, managers, educational and research institutions, research centers, NGOs, civil society, amateurs ...) - For the capacity building of young students specialized in the theme of this project, their selection will be made following a call for training at the national level according to well-defined criteria (age, training acquired, motivation ...)

The making of herbarium boards is a manual, meticulous, precise, artistic work requires a lot of attention, patience and perseverance. These qualities are generally found more in students than students. An internship will help retain those who are more interested, more trained and more applied.

The political impact of the project is: Work to provide Tunisia with a herbarium representative of all its flora, meeting international standards for herbarium conservation, sustainable and searchable online.

There is a great lack in the country of specialists in the botanical discipline and more particularly the systematics. Training young people in this discipline and providing them with experience in plant recognition, database development ... can only be beneficial for their recruitment by national or international organizations working on inventories, monitoring and evaluation. plant conservation.
