This six month strategic project is intended as a knowledge product tool to capture different community practices, still in application by local village communities in PNG. featured are two communities from two provinces in PNG. One is from Milne Bay province while the other is from New Ireland Province.

Both communities have been applying traditional natural resource management techniques to manage the marine life within vicinity of their villages.

It is hoped that the communities can use this tool to continue to educate and promote use and documentation of traditional ecological practices that can still create positive impacts towards improving status of the environment and address imminent threats either on the local population - such as lack of sea protein, marine life for harvest and sale and more importantly the state of marine habitat - weather damaged reefs from bad fishing practices or over fishing in spawning sites.
