Display boards with project information will be fixed at the project site. Moreover two books will be published.

Homesteads of the beneficiaries will be rehabilitated and utilized for growing minor cash crops such as pepper and traditional yam varieties (edible roots and tuber varieties commonly known as yams). The saplings of these plants will be provided by the project. 5 community groups will be educated and facilitated to start business ventures related to underutilized crops such as traditional yam varieties. The project will facilitate for production & marketing of the products made from these underutilized crops. An estimated 20% rise in income per family is expected through this activity.

The grantee organization has a significant expertise in conservation and promotion of traditional yam varieties. The capacity of the organization on production procedures & marketing activities of producing food products from traditional yams will be developed & strengthened through the project. The communities will be made aware of the traditional yam varieties unknown to most people. This will ensure food security and will provide income generation opportunities as well. The community will be made aware of the soil conservation practices and eco ?friendly cultivation methods which could be used to increase yields of the paddy cultivations and home gardens

The project will work with local communities closely, therefore use of local language will be a primary factor both for conservation activities and in videos and documentaries with subtitles where necessary.

Youth in the community such as school students will be made aware about soil conservation. They will be motivated to take action to mitigate soil erosion and land degradation. The students will be requested to carry out a study on status of soil erosion in the area for a period of one year. At the end of the study period, those who will complete the study successfully will be awarded. Moreover the students will be made aware of the conservation of traditional crop varieties.
