Increase of energy efficiency in pre-school facilities in Zhytomyr region
The project is aimed at attracting the community's attention to the global problem of the climate change, contributing to the reduction of GHG emissions, mitigating the global warming consequences and raising public awareness on energy efficiency. The project is focused on demonstration of the low carbon energy solutions for private and public buildings. The main objectives of the project are:
1. Reduction of energy consumption in the institution of preschool education "Berizka" in Radomyshl (Zhytomyr region) by implementation of energy efficient technologies.
2. Formation of more attentive attitude to the smart use of energy and promotion of effective community energy solutions.
3. Popularization of economic, environmental and social benefits of energy saving, increasing educational level in this area.

Gender Focus
Gender equality is a part of project policy and all parties participate in project activities on equal base and benefit from project results. Moreover, the initiative is led by the local women and focuses special attention on gender mainstreaming. As educational sector in Ukraine consist of 70% from female personnel, it was decided to implement demonstration site on energy efficiency in pre-school facility.
Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
The initiative decreased energy consumption of preschool facility by implementation of energy efficient technologies and, as a result, decreased energy bills.
