Tunubusi Women?s Mangrove Planting and Reforestation Integrated Management (TWMPARM)
With the issue of sea level rise resulting in the eroding of the coastlines by waves, it caused the people to relocate their homes further in land. This problem plus the issue of logging where the forests were destroyed since 2009 and still continuing, resulted in the increasing of soil erosion and flooding. Rivers in the logged areas have widen their scope of flowing and are polluted and have expanded their banks. Such put lives of people at more risks. The impact of logging will not only affect the people of the present but the future generations and the environment which is part of people's life support system.
The general objectives of the project are as follows;
1. To help eight villages in the Hograno District to grow and manage mangroves at each of their coastal areas to protect their coastal shorelines from further damage and to reduce the destructive force of the waves.
2. To help communities grow and manage trees in logged areas to restore forest reduced land degradation.
