Natagera Community Custom House Protection
The project is looking at building a seawall with non-corrosive materials to maintain the shoreline of Natagera Community, Santa Ana Island in the Makira Province. The current experience of big waves and sea level rise, the Natagera community is taking the lead to try and prevent the fast eroding of their shorelines which very soon would destroy their traditional houses as well. The Natagera people are very proactive in maintaining their custom houses because they take pride in their cultures therefore, would still like to maintain their connections with their heritage.
