The main goal of the project is to improve the biodiversity of the Khvanchkara region by Landscape planning and setting 4 ha nursery and small scale greenhouse for bringing seed varieties such as chestnut, peas and nuts and running nursery and care about the biodiversity with active community involvement

Project Characteristics and Results
Capacity - Building Component
Established first nursery in Racha region, will contribute to the improvement of biodiversity. More precisely, degraded chestnut trees will be restored by deforestation. Walnut trees in the process of drying out will be replaced with your plants grown in the nursery. Local public school students will be involved in this process. In the future, it will be possible to grow other varietis of trees in the nursery, which will contribute to restore biodiversity in the Khvanchkara varieties distribution area.
Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
Establishment of first nursery in Racha, will to some extent contribute to the improvement of the socio-economic conditions of the local community. The nursery with its equipment, irrigation system and simple construction greenhouse, will be the place which will be actively involved in improving biodiversity in the region. It is also possible to employ a local community in the nursery depending on their willingness.
