"Improving horticultural production in 2 vegetable gardens in Kiang West District through Climate Smart Agriculture".
The project aims to create a conducive environment to enhance improved vegetable production and productivity in two vegetable gardens in the Julafarr ward of the Kiang West District through Climate Smart Agriculture.
Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) can be defined as Agriculture responding to Climate Change. It has 3 main characteristics:
(a). Increasing crop yields on a sustainable basis;
(2). Conserving and protecting the environment and;
(3). Reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
The above mentioned features of CSA will form the foundation of this project. The project will make use of innovations and technologies which would make it a CSA project.
