"Promoting youth participation in modern bee farming for nutrition, income and environmental conservation in Lower Nuimi District".
The project seeks to address rural poverty by the adoption of bee farming in selected communities that belong to the association. The overall objective is the reduction of of Climate change impact through diverse environmental conservation strategies
THE SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
A. OBJECTIVE 1: By the end of the project, 5 modern and environmentally friendly bee apiaries will be constructed in 5 communities of Fass Manko Beekeepers Association (Fass Njagga Choi), Ndofan Beekeepers Club (Ndofan), Anda Geff Group (Touba Angalleh), Nyomuta Kafoo (Kerr Sanyang), Mbog Dolleh (Jamagen) in the Lower Nuimi District, North Bank Region to directly benefit 270 youths.
B. OBJECTIVE 2: By the end of the project, 25 youths will receive technical training on beekeeping and bee product processing, value addition to enhance income generation, entrepreneurial skills and environmental management activities.
C. OBJECTIVE 3: Two bee product outlets will be established in Fass Njagga Choi and Amdalai village strategic locations in the district which host a very strong weekly lumoo and the regional boarder between the Gambia and Senegal for the sale of honey and bee value addition products by the end of the project.
