- The project started with the conduct of a Training of Trainers (TOT) organised for 80 women drawn from the 42 affiliated groups belonging to the Solicita Marketing Federation in Upper Badibou, Central badibou, Jokadou and Lower Nuimi Districts.The TOT was conducted for 44 days at the Njawara Agricultural Training Centre and covered topics such as Compost making, Soil sterilization, sowing methods, mulching, water starter solution formulation, organic manure application methods, crop rotation, pest and disease management, crop hygiene.

- The total number of the federation that benefited directly fro the project was 1, 058 members and all of them are engaged directly in vegetable farming in the North Bank Region. The project also enhanced the managerial and entrepreneurship skills of the federation and placed them on a sound footing.

- The objective of the TOT was to equip participants the skills to practice vegetable production with the use of non-chemicals as either fertilizes or pesticides.

- At the conclusion of the TOT, a step-down training session was conducted at 6 sites that brought together 48 villages to roll out the TOT outcomes. The 6 sites and the villages that were clustered at each site were as follows:
- Buniadou village - composed of 8 cluster villages.
Darsilameh sillage - composed of 7 cluster villages.
Saaba village - composed of 6 cluster villages.
Kartaba Mandika village - composed of 4 cluster villages.
Conteh kunda Niji village - composed of 10 cluster villages.
Njaba kunda village - composed of 9 cluster villages.

- At all the 6 intervention sites (community gardens), use of chemical pesticides estimated at 3, 000 kgs 1.5 was avoided. The women gardeners now adopted organic pesticides made from neem seed extracts to serve as chemical repellents rather effectively. This resulted in cost savings of GMD 144, 000 (US $2, 770 ) for all 6 gardens.

The organic crop resides from all 6 gardens were now turned into compost which substitues for the use of chemical fertilizers. Each garden produces about 2, 000 kg of agricultural waste for this purpose, giving a total of 24, 000 kg of waste turned into organic fertitizer.

With the conduct of the TOT and the step-down training, it is anticipated tat the participants would go back to their respective communities where they in turn would train additional members of the federation on the topics they have learned.
