"Livelihood enhancement through environmental promotion and management for community empowerment".
The project seeks to increase household income level to 2% (amongst women and youth) and enhance the environmental management techniques that can reserve the current trend of destruction of farm lands thus to improve household food security.
Specific objective:
1. To promote agro-forestry in the North Bank Region that will reduce desertification and increase farm production in a sustainable manner
2. All this negative practices has compounded the problem of endangering the environment as a result of causing food insecurity and more so encouraging vulnerability to poverty.
3. To promote improve cooking stove that will be cost effective and reduce the use of fuel wood up to 20%
4. To reduce the effect of drought by promoting massive tree planting exercises with awareness creation on stray animals in other to have 60% survival rate

Planning gef grant
Since this project would contribute directly towards the goal of the National Action Programme to combat Desertification whose objectives are achieved through the implementation of various sectoral strategies, this project can be scaled up to a GEF MSP with the availability of the necessary funds.
